PASA ANNOUNCES TWO NEW FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES The Providence After School Alliance, AfterZone site management agencies, and the AfterZone coordinating councils are announcing another round of grant opportunities for providers interested in providing engaging, high-quality after-school programs for Providence middle school youth. At this time, there are three ways that program providers can apply for funding: ---------------------------------------------------------- 1) AFTERZONE PROGRAM GRANTS AfterZone Program Funding Grant Application
Each of the three AfterZones are issuing a request for proposals for the Winter and Spring 2009 AfterZone sessions. The winter session is 10 weeks (January 20-April 3) and the spring session is 6 weeks (April 20-May 28) . Providers only need to submit this one application form for it to be considered for funding by the review committees from each of the AfterZones.
This is the simplest and easiest application form. However, to be considered for funding for future AfterZone sessions, applicants will need to re-submit full proposals during the RFP process for each program session.
While optional, applicants are strongly encouraged to attend one of the grant technical assistance sessions noted below.
Endorsed AfterZone Program Application
Any program previously offered twice in the AfterZones is eligible to become an “endorsed” AfterZone program by submitting both the AfterZone Program Funding Application (see above) and this supplemental Endorsed AfterZone Program Application.
Please note that endorsement is for a single program, not for a provider, meaning that providers will need to submit applications for each program they would like to be considered for endorsement. Requirements for endorsed programs are noted on the application form, linked below.
If approved, endorsed programs can be considered for funding in future AfterZone program sessions for the coming academic year without needing to submit a full proposal. Programs that become endorsed will then merely need to submit minor program updates, changes to the program budget, and documentation for new staff members for the specific endorsed program to be reviewed for additional funding. Additionally, endorsed programs may request an additional 5% of their total proposed costs to help offset administrative costs.
It is optional to submit the Endorsed AfterZone Program Applications, which are due by Friday, November 7, 2008.
However, anyone submitting an endorsed application MUST attend one of the Endorsed AfterZone Program Application technical assistance sessions noted below.
