PASA and the AfterZones in the News
Thanks to the amazingly talented program providers of the AfterZone, PASA is in the news once again!

Please click on the link below to read the Julia Steiny article "An after-school haven for middle schoolers", published in the Providence Journal on Sunday, April 27, 2008:

Please note the following two corrections:  Where New Urban Arts is referenced in the story, it should actually mention Providence City Arts for Youth, Inc. and where it refers to the Tennis Association, it should read The United States Tennis Association.

We would like to extend a special thanks to Providence CityArts for Youth, Inc., Providence Department of Recreation, Providence Police Activities League, Music One, and the United Stated Tennis Association for their involvement in this story.

Also, we are thrilled to report that PASA was featured on the TODAY Show on Thursday, January 24, 2008 as part of a larger announcement about the America's Promise 2008 list of 100 Best Cities for Young People. The clip featured the Olneyville AfterZone and youth from Springfield and Perry middle schools participating in soccer with Nickerson Community Center, golf with Buttonhole, and Hip Hop with the Dance Alliance.

Thanks to the staff of our 21st Century funded partner at the Providence Housing Authority and the other providers that came out for the filming, including TeenzArt, Media Youth Television, RI Lacrosse and Traveling Theatre, for making that day happen.
