PASA is making quality after-school accessible and convenient for youth and families Providing safe, engaging, youth-centered enrichment and learning opportunities as part of an organized, easy-to-navigate after-school system is the essence of the AfterZone concept. PASA, the City of Providence, and community partners are committed to changing the neighborhood landscape for the benefit of youth and families across the city.

What will it take? After-School Zones (called AfterZones) are a new world of after-school opportunities that include: - Citywide commitment to quality programming - Improved programs and better trained staff - Local public and private partnerships - A coordinated schedule of varied opportunities - Shared resources, staff, and facilities - Transportation links to local and citywide programs - Responsiveness to youth and family needs and hopes - Strong communication between organizations, youth, and families - Safe places, safe travel corridors, and caring staff - Mobilization of college, youth, and adult volunteers After studying where most youth, families, and facilities (i.e., gyms, fields, classrooms, community rooms, kitchens, etc.) were concentrated, PASA and its partners identified the following five geographic areas in the city to form and support a network of AfterZones: - East Side - Fox Point / Hope / Mount Hope
- Lower South Side - Elmwood / Lower South Providence / Reservoir / South Elmwood / Washington Park
- North End - Charles / Wanskuck
- Olneyville - Federal Hill / Hartford / Manton / Mount Pleasant / Olneyville / Silver Lake
- West End / Upper South Side - Upper South Providence / West End
